Job summary

Outline of position   

  • Ensure that COO department:  Operations , Finance, Internal Control, Administration, IT and Information Security processes are performed in the best conditions of security and productivity 
  • Supervising the financial and management reports for the local management, the HO, the Regulators and the Statutory Auditors
  • Through the Organization department, be the driver of local projects to improve the efficiency, the security  and productivity of all the Branch processes  
  • Be the correspondent of the HO units in the implementation of cross-functional projects
  • Hierarchical reporting to the Branch CEO and functional reporting to the Head Office COO and to the Head Office CFO
  • Share with Singapore COO and conversely adopt all best practices that would support Asia entities developing their activities and streamlining processes

 Key Responsibilities   

  • Serving as manager under section 72B of the Hong Kong Banking Ordinance for the Account and Finance function with Section 3 of Schedule 14 of the said ordinance.   
  • Be responsible for the entity’s entire Operations, IT and Finance process. The processes concerned are those deriving from the business lines active in the entity and those related to the different support functions
  • Managing the different outsourcing contracts within HO guidelines, among which, but not limited to the ones with Azqore and CACIB
  • Enhancing the functional and economic efficiency by adjusting the organization and the resources while at the same time limiting the level of operational risks
  • Implementing processes automation to improve client service quality and team productivity
  • Ensuring procedures are implemented and that these are regularly adjusted to the organization 
  • Closely managing and, guiding when necessary, its direct line managers (Back-offices, Accounting, IT, General Administration, Information security, Internal Control)
  • Internal reporting to the unit management   
  • Financial  reporting to the HO and local Regulators   
  • Responsible for the local budget process and monitoring reports   
    Providing information to the Statutory Auditors   
  • Responsible for the local ALM committee organization
  • Permanent control correspondent

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Bachelor degree or above

Level of minimal experience

11 years and more


Over 15 years of Banking experience in Private Banking among which 7 years in a similar position.

Required skills

Excellent management, organization and problem solving skills; Independent, self-motivated and ability to adapt to a team environment.


Fluent in English and in French and ideally in Cantonese
